Meeting up with the Meads

July 7, 2008 – Monday (Very Hot, Dry, 100’s)

Today we brought the motorhome to camping world for repairs. The boys stayed in the lounge while I went to the service counter then to sales. Ethan told me he witnessed to an older man. He said to the man “that we were traveling across the U.S.A and we were doing it for the Lord.” He told the man “I attend a Christian school called L.W.A.” He also said “the church had a camp called Living Word Camp and a church called Living Word Church”. He then asked the man “do you have a faith or religion?” The man told Ethan he was a Lutheran”. Ethan told the man that our RV is called “Bailey’s Blessing” because “this whole trip has been about sharing the gospel and is a big blessing”. I am glad to see him witnessing. After this the Meads arrived to bring us back to Surprise, AZ. It was a real blessing to find out that the Mead’s would be in Phoenix at the same time we were passing through. See, the Lord really does order our steps. We drove back to a fitness center that was more like a resort to cool down. Steve and Bonnie’s home, Steve is Val’s brother. We went to Chikaflix, a Christian run chicken outfit for dinner. After that we went back to Steve’s to go swimming. It was still very warm ourside even after the sun went down (90’s) and the water was very refreshing. Steve and Bonnie know the Lord. Here is there family (plus Ethan Val, Daniel and Isaiah). Pictured here are Steve and Bonnie, then Jordan and Katie. My boys stayed the night with Steve’s family and we took Katie with us to Val’s sister’s home.

Chris, Val’s sister is married to Gene. Gene works at a fitness center as a personal trainer and has quite a testimony when it comes to his walk with Christ and his marriage to Chris. At one point he left everything to follow the Lord’s leading and ended up in Arizona with Chris. We were very happy to stay in a home, even though we had the couch…it was a very big couch that fit both me and my wife. After sharing some of our trip and what the Lord has done, we all circled up and prayed. I teared up because of the prayers being offered up for our family. In the picture below, Chris is pictured with Val, Jim and Katie. We then went to bed.
